Inside DiveDaddy

Everything the planner does

Built for tech and rec divers who do the math on a phone, often right before the dive. Here is what is in the $10 unlock.

Decompression engine

  • Bühlmann ZH-L16C with Gradient Factors. Defaults to GUE Standard 20/85, plus presets for 40/85, 50/80, 30/70, and 70/85.
  • VPM-B bubble model with +0 to +4 conservatism as an alternate algorithm.
  • Trimix (O₂ and He per gas), multi-level dives up to 9 levels.
  • Gas density tracked against the 5.2 g/L working limit and 6.3 g/L hard limit.
  • MOD, END, and EAD per level, plus a best-mix calculator.
  • Multi-range descent rates by depth band, with separate ascent, deco, and surface rates.
  • Last-stop depth adjustable (3 m default, 6 m for GUE).
  • CNS% and OTU oxygen exposure tracking.
  • Minimum-gas reserve, factoring team size and stress SCR for shared ascent.
  • Turn pressure on the rule of thirds.
  • Ceiling-violation warning for unsafe multi-level structures.
  • 100-scenario QA suite, 73 passing unit tests.

Planner

  • Cylinder fill bars. Visual used, reserve, and spare per cylinder, with overfill detection.
  • Cylinder picker by config: singles, doubles, or sidemount (with left and right fill pressures).
  • Multiple deco gases, each with its own cylinder type and fill pressure.
  • Safety panel of error and warn cards with one-tap fixes: Go shallower, Trim time, Add helium, More O₂, Less O₂, Bigger stage, Add deco gas.
  • Interactive contingency planning. Scrub "Deeper by N" and "Longer by N" steppers and the comparison table updates live.
  • Lost-gas re-planning. Drops each deco gas in turn and shows the fall-back deco profile.
  • Profile chart with depth, ceiling, stop dots, and brass gas-switch labels.
  • Decompression schedule table with runtime and per-stop gas.
  • Buddy briefing share: a verbal English summary plus an open-in-app link or code.

Guided wizard

  • 5 to 10 questions, then a full plan.
  • Branch-aware: trimix path skips nitrox, no-deco path skips deco gas steps.
  • Configuration question (sidemount, single backmount, twinset) auto-filters cylinder options.
  • Fill pressure per cylinder, left and right for sidemount.
  • Per-gas cylinder picker when carrying both 50% and O₂.
  • Gas-check card: ✓ or ✗ per cylinder verifies tanks have enough before splash.
  • Key numbers up top: runtime, total deco, turn pressure, min gas, CNS%.
  • Share the plan from the result page, same modal as the planner.

Conditions

  • Pin a dive site, and everything below is for that site.
  • In-page nav chips scroll to each section.
  • Weather: temp, sky, wind, precipitation (Open-Meteo).
  • Sea state: water temp, wave height, period and direction, current (Open-Meteo marine).
  • Water clarity estimate: satellite chlorophyll plus stir-up plus seasonal-latitude bias.
  • Drift plan: NOAA tidal-current direction, peak time, slack windows.
  • Tides: NOAA stations with best-time-to-dive guidance.
  • Flora and fauna: GBIF citizen-science records sorted into marine life, plants and algae, hard coral, and soft coral, with seasonality pills.

PWA and brand

  • Installs as a phone app. Add to Home Screen on iPhone or Android, full-screen.
  • Offline planner. Service worker pre-caches the app shell.
  • Whale-shark brand mark, brass and deep teal-black palette (light and dark).
  • Open Graph share card for rich previews on iMessage, Slack, X, and LinkedIn.

Profile, sharing, settings

  • Local profile (name and avatar emoji), no signup needed.
  • Auto-suggested nautical handle with a 🎲 shuffle button.
  • Settings cog: algorithm, units (metric or imperial), appearance (auto, light, dark).
  • Share and import plans via link or short code, including the conditions snapshot if a pin has been set.

Buying and access

  • $10 one-time. No subscription, no ads.
  • Buy on Digital Vibe or inside the app, whichever you reach first.
  • Restore by email if you lose access, switch phones, or close the tab before the redirect lands.

Dive Pro Coming soon

  • Video tutorials, cylinder sizing guide, GUE catalog, and TDI/SDI catalog all in development.
  • Separate $29 tier, launching when the content is ready.

All features above are live in the $10 unlock. Dive Pro is the next phase.

What we do

Built for the dive world

The diving community is small, passionate, and loyal. We help brands and operators reach it with work that feels native, not bolted on.

Community & network building

We connect operators, brands, instructors, and divers into communities that keep coming back. Forums, groups, ambassador programs, and the relationships that turn one trip into a lifetime of diving.

Social media management

Content calendars, storytelling, and channel management made for dive shops and gear brands. We turn your trips, your gear, and your reefs into a feed people want to follow and share.

Web & software development

Booking systems, dive-log apps, trip pages, and the digital tools dive businesses run on. The same engineering rigor as our consulting practice, pointed at the water.

Underwater content & gear testing

Photo and video production from real dives, plus hands-on gear testing and reviews. We use the equipment, document how it performs, and create content brands and operators can put to work.

Divers building
for divers

We are in the water, not just behind a desk.

Why work with us

We speak the language because we dive

Marketing and software built by people who have never touched a regulator always shows. We combine real engineering and product skill with genuine time underwater, so the work lands with an audience that can spot a fake instantly.

  • Professional engineering and development skill, applied to the dive industry
  • Content created on real dives with gear we actually use and test
  • An understanding of the community, the brands, and the culture
  • A long-term commitment to growing this sector, not a quick campaign
Who we work with

Photographers, videographers, instructors, and developers we bring in to scale up for larger projects and specialized work.

Dive shops & operators

Local dive shops and charter operators we partner with to grow their reach, tell their story, and run the digital tools their business depends on.
